Got Rhythm?
SEE HOW INTERACTIVE METRONOME THERAPY CAN GET YOU MOVING TO THE BEAT!
Our brains are like machines with everything moving in rhythm. Our brain has to work with our muscles to create rhythmic movements in order to function. The more accurate the communication between our brains and muscles are, the more we can coordinate movements. In addition to helping control muscles, our brain has to be able to coordinate movements with our mouths and eyes to help with speech and eye hand coordination.
Sometimes the timing between our brain and our muscles may be off. We may have a hard time coordinating things like catching a ball, using our mouth muscles to chew, or visually tracking words on a page. It is all about rhythm!
An Interactive Metronome is a tool to help improve timing and rhythmic movements for kids (or adults!). Using the Interactive Metronome, the child listens to a rhythmic beat as they complete movements. The program provides live feedback of accuracy to help the child improve their ability to stay on beat. The Interactive Metronome program is research-backed and can help improve skills such as focus, coordination, planning, and processing speed.
Reach for Speech is proud to offer Interactive Metronome as a tool to help your child. Our trained therapists can work to help establish goals, develop a treatment plan, and practice moving to the beat!
