Bunny Hop Challenge

Happy Easter! At Reach for Speech, our Physical Therapy team is celebrating with a Bunny Hop challenge. This routine is great for developing balance, gross motor, and coordination skills!

The Bunny Hop Challenge:

  1. 5 Big Bunny Hops

With your feet together jump in a straight line, or from dot to dot as demonstrated here!

  2. Hop on each foot ten times

Bend one knee and hop, hop, hop with your foot in the air! Switch legs and repeat.

  3. One foot bunny balance

Bend your knee and see how long you can balance with one foot in the air!

  4. Single leg reach for egg

Now bend down and reach for an egg, a real one or print some out like we did here! Make this more challenging by reaching across the midline to grab!

  5. Toss the egg into a basket

Finally take that egg and toss it into your basket. This will help you work on hand eye coordination!

Repeat this challenge as many times as you like, making sure to practice balancing on both sides, switching your throwing arm.

We have created a printable version for you to try at home. Download it here and share photos and videos of your family trying it out using #R4SBunnyHop on social media!
